Eco Printed & Hand Painted 100% Organic Merino Wool Sock Twist 4ply, Colourway Hot Mustard

This 100% Organic Merino Wool in a sock twist 4ply weight is spun in the U.K. and is GOTS certified as well as being anti shrink. It is enviromentally friendly and sustainable, it is non chlorinated and it has a production route that is fully traceable. As the yarn has been naturally dyed aswell this gives you a beautiful yarn that is very eco friendly .

It has been dyed through the magical process of Eco Printing and hand painting with naturally created dyes. I use only natural dyes in both plant form and extract. As well as Lichens (Ethically sourced) and locally gathered seaweed. I also use traditional natural dyes from insects such as Cochineal & Lac which have been used for hundreds of years.

The technique I use to produce this variegated yarn also creates a complexed but complementary palette of colours throughout this skein of yarn, it is truly unique. The colour distribution is quite random, this is due to how the plant elements used impart their colour in the printing part of the dyeing process. If using more than one skein for a garment it may be advisable to alternate the skeins every couple of rows so to avoid pooling.

The changing colours in this yarn lend themselves beautifully to both knitted and crocheted items.
