Shipping and Returns

  • Please be aware when purchasing from Handmade Over Yonder that your item is coming from a small Island in Orkney. Your parcel has to journey twice by Ferry before getting to mainland U.K. So please allow an additional 2 to 3 days on top of usual delivery timescales for your destination.
  • I aim to ship within 48 hours of any order, our Island Post Office is only open from 9am to 10am Monday to Friday.
  • U.K. Postal service is always First Class signed for so that your item is covered by insurance.
  • Europe, U.S.A. and rest of the world is always International tracked and Signed for service( which ever is applicable for your destination).
  • Please note the postage price is exactly what Royal Mail charge me.
  • On the rare occasion that the shop system overcharges for postage I will always refund the customer as soon as this mistake happens. 
  • I've placed a few orders with you today do you offer combined postage?  If you happen to place more than one order within the same shop update, I will always combine them into one parcel and refund any overcharged shipping costs. However, if you place an order several hours later I may not be able to combine the orders as the earlier one may have been packed and shipped in a quick turn around. 
  • Will I have to pay Import Tax or any fees on my order? All the purchases from outside the U.K. may be liable for customs/import charges. All Import Charges remain the responsibility of the customer. Please check with your country/regions postal service to see details of what charges you may incur.
  • Can I return my yarn if I've changed my mind about my purchase? Yes, you can return your yarn within 14 days from receipt of it. Please do contact me to notify me that you would like to return your order either in full or part. If the return is due to a fault we will reimburse the cost of returns postage ( Please obtain proof and receipt of postage from your provider). If the yarn is being returned and not faulty the return postal cost is the responsibility of the customer. All items being returned must be in their original condition and packaging i.e. skeins must be intact and not in cakes/balls or smelling of smoke. If the yarn isn't in a saleable state I will be unable to issue a refund . 
  • What do I do if there is a problem with my order ? Please contact me straight away to address any issue that has arisen with your order for e.g. the wrong item has been dispatched or you've noticed a fault, please use contact form.
  • Am I able to return a Textile piece? All my Textile Pieces are limited batches and are all unique and individual, if a customer changes their mind about the purchase and wish to return it. They must firstly contact me and notify me that they wish to return the item. Then it must be returned unopened and in a re sellable state. If the item being returned is not faulty then the return postage is the responsibility of the customer. If the return is due to a fault please retain proof and receipt of postage from your provider so return postage can be issued in full.
